Global Youth Service Day Workshop on February 2

Join us for Hanover's Global Youth Service Day Plan-O-Rama! Workshop on Thursday, Feb. 2, from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. Plan-O-Rama will be held in the Hanover County Department of Social Services meeting room.

The workshop is hosted by the Hanover County Department of Community Resources and is designed to help you develop your Global Youth Service Day project ideas in a fun, group atmosphere. The workshop features Jason Stanley, coordinator of Leb Camp, as the special guest speaker. You will also gain valuable insight from youth themselves.

Teen panel members will share their volunteer experiences and insights, and will work directly with you to design or enhance your youth-friendly volunteer project that is both meaningful and beneficial.   

One lucky participant who registers a GYSD project by the end of the workshop will be eligible to win a $100 mini-grant.

Celebrated in over 100 countries, GYSD is an annual world-wide event that mobilizes millions of young people to improve their communities through service and service-learning. For the fifth consecutive year, Hanover County has been selected by Youth Service America to serve as one of the nation’s 75 GYSD Lead Agencies. GYSD will be held April 20-22, 2012.

February 15 is the application deadline for all Hanover County 2012 GYSD projects.
